I can't wait to show you all my new windows! This is the So Cal 'Ranch' redo. They are being installed as we speak, so will have pics later today. Porch is almost done, and we are starting work on the kids/hall bath.

House is a mess! Can't believe all the dust! Oh well will be worth it in the end.!

Toodles,

Laura

Are these the windows from A New View? Hope so, can't wait to see them!

Yes they are! And they turned out great!

    Here is the before

    Here is after

We went with just the grids on the top half of the windows. I really love how they turned out. So much better than what we had before. I am still waiting on my front door and family room slider, they will be in the end of the month, they were a different vendor.

We will paint after they are installed!

    Here is the upstairs.

Here is the dilemma! Trying to get the kids to agree on window treatments! I wanted to put in the bamboo roman shades, but DD doesn't like them as they don't go with her room! DS really doesn't care, but they do go with his room. Right now they just have up curtains, but we will work on the shades. Doesn't help that the windows are 69" wide and there is really no where to hang a curtain rod, have to go with tensions, which for that length tend to droop.

    Oh well, love my windows.

Jodi, you should give them a call. There website is anewviewwindows.com

Your windows look great. You can bet I will call them Laura.

On the kids' window treatments: Get lined shades. The linings that show to the street are white (even if you do a blackout liner in the middle). Then each kid can pick a fabric or style they like for their own room, but it will look uniform from the front. The woven woods also come in roman style, and have liners available.

I will have to check those out. Just didn't want to spend that much. Haven't had time to sit down and look at the various styles, working on the bath now. Maybe next week, oh wait that is when we are putting down the new floor and need to get over and order the wrought iron ballisters for the stairs. Oy, not enough hours in the day!

    Thanks,

Tell DD it's your house and you can overrule her. If that doesn't work...bribe her!

LOL! Yes I know! But we did find her some cute curtains at Target, they are silky and shades of pink, in the morning her room looks like a pink cocoon! I just need to find a rod that attaches from above? The windows are like a little window box, you can sort of tell from the picture. The tension rod is towards the room at the end of the 'box'. Do they make decorative rods that are the rod holder hangs from the ceiling? Am I making sense? I know usually they attach to the wall, but the way her window is, there is no wall to attach to. I will try to take a pic, if I can get in there when she isn't, she would kill me ! LOL

Your new windows look beautiful. Are they nail-on or retrofit?

They are retrofit. We did have to do some nail on with a half circle over one of the sliders and each of the kids rooms has an octagon that will be a nail on. Front door and family room slider along with all new interior doors come next week! Yeah! Can't wait to get the new front door up.

    Just saw some on JCPenney.com

Here is a link that might be useful: Ceiling Mount curtain Rod

    Thanks!

They look beautiful Laura, I can see why you are so thrilled with them.
I agree with the shades so they look the same from outside and was going to mention JCP has ceiling mount rods. You could use the wire ones too. I can't remember what they are called though.

The windows are really nice. As for window treatments, well I don't know what to tell you except what someone mentioned about the lined shades. I'm thinking along those lines as I have a similar situation. I have 4 windows, one being in the laundry room and one being in the pantry. The other two are in the office so I don't want those window treatments the same as these other more casual rooms. LOL, what we have to deal with!!

You are right brutuses! So many decisions and not enough hours in the day! I am going to look into the lines shades though, with curtains won't matter if the shades are there or not!

    Thanks all!
