That sucker w/be on my wet saw in about 15 minutes. BEAUTIFUL.

I know that pattern because I have some dishes with the same exact lion that I bought from e-bay to cover a table. Let me check at home and see who made them. I will warn you, unless you use a saw, they are a hard porcelain and tuff to break with nippers.

lol..........I think there was a time when I mentioned to someone, and tried to encourage them not to break some dish or another..who was that anyway?
but that dish seems to be one of a pattern that I myself would probably break...
I've broken so many dishes, that it gets to be second nature, to kindof recognize the ones that would be worth keeping and the ones that would break really nicely.
that one should break just about in any direction you want it to go...

It's really a beautiful plate and I can understand your hesitation to break it....but just imagine all the beautiful things you can make with it! I'm with the rest...BREAK IT!!

I've kind of settled into a logic for breaking plates. If it's so pretty (like that one), I leave it until I think it is the perfect piece for something and then it gets cut up. In the meantime, I just enjoy it. I have also found some of my stuff on ebay for big prices. But does it ever get sold is the question. Just yesterday, I was looking at Dec. Good Housekeeping and there was an article about perfect gifts. There were plates for 9.95 that I had bought for $1 and cut up the day before. Fortunately, mine were a different color so that makes it ok, right?

dirtying, I like your logic. I am just sitting back and enjoying all the beautiful details. I have decided unless it is in the high double digits, I am probably going to make my own masterpiece out of it. Thank you all for the input.

look at it, list it on ebay, if it doesn't sell in a week, cut it up....I would have already cut it and found something to make with it. It is a beautiful pattern, but one is not worth dealing with. Cut it.Then you can lay it out and find other things to go with it.
