1st Mosaic WIP! ~ Flip Flop candleholder

I have finally got something with glass glued on it to show.

My son had my grozier pliers 2 hrs away, so I went to the glass shop yesterday & bought a pair to tide me over so I could cut.

The flower is not glued, I'm still deciding on the yellow, or not. If not, what color would you suggest?

Looking at the picture I realize I let the mosquitoes & my hunger & trying to hurry so the glue didn't dry out distract me, and most of the toenails are not on right, so I have to redo them tomorrow.

I also remember why I like having 2 pair of pliers for the tiny stuff!

Anyway, here it is so far, and suggestions are welcome. Also any other things that are just not going to work later, feel free to let me know. For example, I started to use random leftover bits of blue for the front piece (not finished) to keep it funky, if it doesn't work, let me know. Thanks!

My dear, PANTHER: There's not one danged thing wrong w/that mosaic. It's absolutely darlin' and I WANT IT. That is waaaaaaaaay cool - funky and cute as it can be. DON'T CHANGE A THING. It's wonderful. I LOVE those toenails!!!

I forgot to ask if anyone has any suggestions on grout type or color. I was thinking tan to keep the foot "together" but don't really understand the grout color thing yet. (What the different colors do to the final project)

Good job! The blue on the front ties in nicely with the straps on the thong, and she looks like she just got a new pedicure. I kind of like the yellow flower. I think other colors might compete or overwhelm what you already have. Trust your instinct and go with what you have!

Panther, that is sooooo cute! I love the toenails. I agree, I don't see anything that needs to be changed.

Too late on the flower color, LOL, it's now kind of an orange sherbet. (The toenails do look red in the picture, but they're really dark orange, actually the back of the new flower color).

I'm still giving it a chance to tell me it wants something else, we'll see. I'm planning on getting grout tomorrow, in a "flesh" type color to blend with the foot glass.

Cute - the colors were great as they were, so I'm sure they are super now! Can't wait to see the grouting on this!
