Love, love love the violin! I've been trying to find one myself, but have had no luck. Where did you find yours?

Thanks so much, hrsg. I do have a real fiddle for mosaic... too broken to even fix...but will be ok for mosaic. However... this green one is just a violin shape that my husband cut out for me several years ago... plywood. It's thin wood so will have to be mounted on something. I keep looking for broken fiddles... even put Craigslist ads.. but so far no response.

Love your turtles kate,and the story is wonderful..how clever..I'm sure they will be adopted..what price do you have on them if you don't mind me asking.i'm having to price some things and it's hard to know how much..I love what you are doing with the turtles..I wanted to do one when I saw your first ones but can't find one with a base.So cool!!

I saw your stuff on flickr!! I'm browsing thru and am only on page 50!!! I really like the random look on the fiddle and putting it on a background like Bama did with her butterfly, would look so cool!!! I love those beads on it! Adopting the turtles, too cute!!!

Realistically you only see one side, and it is the shape I like. This creates a whole new world of possibilities for me!

I love your turtles too! Where do you find them? When I go to stores, I tend to see only one of everything.

I've found the turtle bases at KMart and Sears Essential stores locally. I found a starfish, too that I'm anxious to try. Come visit us in FL and we'll go turtle shopping! :)

I was surprised that the fiddle had such square tiles, but I really like it. How are you going to edge it?

That's what I'm trying to figure out, Andrea. :) Typical of me to just jump in without a complete plan.... but I'm thinking... smaller, darker pieces which I hope will give it a more 3-D look... then the ball chain on the very edge. That's what I have in mind at the moment anyway. ALL ideas are welcome!

What fabulous projects, FIDDLE: Love them all. Very clever to cut your fiddle shape, and it w/look lovely mounted on a canvas. What w/you use to cover the canvas? Beautiful work.

I haven't decided about the canvas... still thinking and can't quite picture it in a frame yet but DO like the idea. What I would REALLY like to do... is attach it to a lamp base. Gonna have to ponder some more. :)

Kate, I just love the turtles...I guess I've entered my reptilian & amphibious(are those words) phase. I'm really into turtles and frogs. Where did you get the turtles? They really are great!

I even went hunting for a turtle yesterday and found a great one, it was cement and was a spitter for a fountain, was $65!!! But a real life sice and yummy...Just lookin!!! Not Spending!! Especially since I have two frog/toads already here that I haven't covered yet!!!

rchovey... I bought them at both KMart... and Sears Essential stores. They are $9.99 each... but now and then go on sale. right before Christmas I found several at 1/2 price... which what much better. I also bought a turtle with a happy looking frog riding on it's back. It doesn't have "sand" under it... but is VERY cute! That was from KMart.
