My ball was as I envisioned, except it wasn't going to be the exchange ball. The ball I had intended to send, I had a good idea, I wanted it to look like the Easter egg I did with tiles, but what a wrong idea on a not perfect round sphere. It is put away until I can try to dig the tiles off.

Yeap i only did one ball and it came out somewhat how i wanted it to.

Same with me gretch - one idea, one ball, one sent.

Now I just hope the recipient receives it!

ditto with wench and gretch. The base was done up a bit more but it took a bit longer than expected so ran outta time (sorry!)

DD came home from work and looked at it and said she didn'r think it looked spring-like.

So I switched to the Easter egg idea, glued the flowers on and then didn't think the egg idea was going to work out after all.

So, discouraged, I started ball 3:

But glueing the clear glass on was a PITA because I couldn't tell where I ended with the glass and there was GEII EVERYWHERE on it!

Meanwhile, in a trip to Michael's, I found the bunny and that changed the direction of ball 2 which I finally completed.

It took me a long time to finish ball 3, and I'm still scraping dried GEII off it. I really liked how it came out so I decided to keep ball 3 for myself, and send ball #2.

Phew...that was long-winded, huh? LOL

I stuck with my original...1 idea, 1 ball. Took me long enough to fully develop that one, didn't have time to work through another.

Sorta, kinda, not really. First idea was a cloisonne-inspired theme ball. Didn't pan out, since I hadn't used 'glass' yet, and had no clue how to cut, grind, shape, etc. So that was totally out since I wasn't about to send an "experiment" to someone as a gift.

You'll have to wait another day or two to see what the final design was :)

Pretty much my first idea. I didn't think it would work out..but surprise! it did

I didn't really have an idea before I started. I finished the flower side, and it took me forever to decide what to do on the other half. (I was sick of cutting frit for flowers).
At one time I did a butterfly, and filled in around it.. but after I got it all glued down, I decided it wasn't what I wanted, so I scraped it all off with a toothpick. Then it set for a few days while I tried to come up with another idea. Finally came up with the idea of a basket. So thats what I did.

Yep, I went with the first and only one. I didn't know what I was going to do when I started. Just started cutting and trying pieces and this is what evolved. A lot of fun.

Oh my gosh! NO...the one I mailed is was the 3rd attempt...I was trying to do a Spring in Texas theme with a huge bluebonnet on the front and a small Texas flag on the back...both were hideous and I was really frustrated so I just went a whole other direction with the one I mailed and I was much happier with that one...now we'll wait to see what my recipient thinks of it :)

No. I sent design #2. I went with a small ball. First I wanted to do mini tulips but they looked more like easter eggs. OK, I can deal with easter eggs, and I already had a cool idea for the fill. Then the easter eggs didn't look like easter eggs because the pieces were so small. Running out of time I went to plan B but still used my original idea for the fill. I hope she likes it!
