Bump it down

Wigardenerwannabe,

I am not good at seeing undertones in the colors, but I have been told that it does appear somewhat peach. I have BM guesthouse in the kitchen and with the kashmir gold granite countertop (which I have also been told has peach undertones) it works very well. I repainted the kitchen twice because I could not get the "right" color to go with the kashmir gold granite until I found the BM guesthouse color. To sum this up I can only deduce that sepia tan may have peach undertones since it is on the guesthouse strip--only I can not see it. Does work well with white molding-I have oak flooring and I do not perceive it to be awful!

Thanks barbie. I took a day away from it yesterday as I was getting depressed with the process. I was all over the map, entertaining browns, blues, various tans and none quite hitting the mark...and dropping some $ in the process. This morning I decided to add a second coat to the wall I had done in the sepia tan, and that helped in diminishing the peachy undertone. I'm thinking that I will continue with it...just not sure what I should do with the lower part of the wall. This is the first time I've had such difficulty with choosing a color and I can now appreciate the many threads here I've read where others have been in the same boat! Thanks for your response. wig

Wig,

In my living-room that is adjacent to my dinning room (painted sepia tan), I used BM affinity color tranquility (a blueish greenish-grey). I have a lot of white trim, oak floors and all these colors seem to play nice together. When one sits in the living room of tranquility you can easily view the sepia tan dinning room and it flows very nicely. I intend to get the dinning room chairs recovered in a fabric with the tranquility and sepia tan color in it.
