Thank you for your fun comments everyone! They keep me going and going and going! Yes, Fiddlekate, you can just push the pieces into colored thinset. It's so easy, and you don't grout later. They are really fun, and develop personalities as they go. The time collecting for them is just as fun ratting around Thrift stores looking for plates and with my nose to the ground in the forest searching for wood, and on the river and desert hunting for stones. I've recruited my friends as accomplices too. (Big grin) I've had a number of them EARN a house! LOL

Truly art at its best - it's such a sweet house. You are so talented. Also love your back fence w/the raised planter. The fence is a canvas - wish I had one to fill up w/mosaics.

The fence is brand new and we love it too. Thanks for the comments! My DH is just getting used to the idea of things in the garden. I think it'll be a long while til he oks mosaicing the fence! (smile)

My birthday was in January. Does that count? I still think these are the neatest and I like this one the best. I have a bird that wants to live in that one or one just like it. Here in Texas we don't have all the cool wood and rocks that you seem to find. I do have a lot of china and pottery shards.. I think this forum needs to do a birdhouse swap and a tess swap.. not the same ol boring squares and glass anyone can get, but distinctive stuff native to the area, etc. That would be fun.

Oh, not, DAISY: I didn't mean mosaic onto that wonderful fence - I meant a place to HANG mosaiced things on. I got chain link and somehow it wouldn't look the same.

Blue Light Special! LOL If you're around this week click on the original post photo above and it will take you to my album...I THINK! (It works for me) It's always been available like that I guess and I only this week made it "private" when I saw I had over 1500 hits this month (And not all of them were from YOU). I just didn't know what to think about that, as I'd only created it to share pictures with you guys and my other friends. There are only about 30 pics, and they aren't in any order, as I didn't know they were going out on the internet like that. I also can't figure out how to order them better. (Does anyone know?) Does anyone else have concerns about posting pics that are available for the general public?

I'm charmed that you folks want to see the pics. I know you are all artists and love mosaic and I count you amongst my friends. I truly hope you enjoy them.

To answer other questions, I use forms from WalMart, Joanne's, Michaels, and Thrift shopping. Wood and stones are available most anywhere. You can find them! Texas must have a lot of mesquite. Mesquite is my favorite for the houses' character.

Yes I have sold a few, but I only started doing them last year so it has been by word of mouth, by commission, and I did one crafts fair and sold $800.00 worth at $55.00(smallest) -$120.00 (like Minuet). It was a lovely day!

OHYESYESYES. DAISY - those are the MOST original BHs I've seen, and I love every one of them. You are VERY talented, and I think your prices are too low. My real name is Betty, and I DO love to mosaic just about anything that falls in front of me on any given day.
