What is the best way to ask questions regarding the appliances, finishes, etc.?
I am sure I'll have more questions, but right now I seem to need to know more about range hoods. In particular, the Thynes' Ancona Chef Range hood (now for sale on costco.com) and the range hood pictured in a post on May 23, 2012, above by Bellsmom.

Mine is now an old kitchen, finished in 2010. All DIY except countertops. Budget kitchen, two tone with mirrored doors. I will be giving another kitchen a facelift soon.

My kitchen...some potentially interesting features...counter behind sink bumps out into window...cabinet over fridge contains tv that is slaved to the tv in FR...MW is in oven stack behind nesting doors so it can be hidden...dish towel cabinet...cork backsplash over bar and mail station...open to breakfast nook and FR.

I'm bumping this old thread up, hoping to see more links to reveal threads added to it, especially from GWers who've finished their kitchens since this thread was active. I'll add mine just as soon as it is completed (still don't have an ETA on cab glass or hutch backsplash install).

My kitchen was installed back in early 2001. We updated the walls and hood recently with a faux painter artist. The countertop on the highest part of the island is copper. Floors are cork.

Stunning, nhbaskets. Our KD has not yet done a photo shoot. We're waiting for a laundry room cabinet. For now, here is a link to my unprofessional pics: pattisue72's kitchen

here we go...three years young and still loving it! I spent months on gardenweb. I'm sure my link is somewhere buried... This is a fairly middle-of the road, standard kitchen upgrade. Three years ago we spent $35k in an area where the avg. is 50K and the world is the limit. (Northern Virginia). We have shaker style off white cabinets, leathered midnight pearl granite counter and a banquet in a very small space. I opened up a too-small footprint and I'm still in awe the difference it makes for us! The things we spent extra on: the counter, moving the dishwasher and of course the banquet, were all absolutely worth the extra money. I found all the backsplash tiles at a discount. The square green were from a Habitat ReStore.

High-end 16" square laminate floor with grout (still amazing), Samsung counter-depth fridge is still SMALL but worth it, ice maker still works wonderfully, Samsung stove is ok, bosch dishwasher is amazing still. Taking the door out, adding the pantry and Fridge wall absolutely relieved the bottleneck we experienced with door,, pantry door, fridge and counter being too close together.

Banquet (very small space, so custom built to match the cabinet. Heavenly is all I can say. I sit at it every day have coffee and check the web etc..

Piano hinge along the long side is great storage.

What amazing kitchens as so many styles are so pretty as the updated kitchens are such an improvement of the before pictures. I feel we should continue this thread to help others with ideas. One day I hope to post my finished kitchen when I complete it. I did learn about the running bond pattern when doing tiles and I used it for my kitchen and I love my floors.

Does anyone recall a kitchen that was on the east (I think) coast, and included handblown glass pendants and a contemporary stained glass backsplash? It was stunning.

Can you recall additional details about this kitchen, mabeldingeldine? Were the cabs white or stained wood? Was it a specific style?Was there a predominant color? The only one that I can recall that has stained glass was Craftsman but the glass was in top row of upper cabinets, not in the backsplash, and I don't think the pendants were blown glass.

Or could you be thinking of becktheeng's tile mosaic backsplash? Is this it 99% finished ocean inspired kitchen? Oh, wait, no handblown glass pendants so probably not.

You might have better luck starting a new thread asking for help finding this kitchen.

Sorry, doesn't ring a bell. Did you start a new thread asking for help finding this kitchen? I recently asked for help finding a kitchen reveals several years ago and got an answer in hardly any time at all.

Hi Lisa... Thanks so much. This is my kitchen. Pretty straight forward, replaced cabinets, counter top, backsplash, appliances and fixtures, but we didn't change the footprint at all.

Since we're posting links to our kitchens this was the partially finished reveal back in 2010 to my condo. It showed the before and after. I sold the condo this past May. Here are a few pics from it completely finished and staged. (What's missing are the Mission studio lights over the bar area and the Arroyo Craftsman sconces in the dining room, since we removed those and put less expensive lights for selling. The Mission Studio lights will be going in our new build).
