Well, poop. I was really hoping to be able to see it tomorrow. Here it is (30"wx20"dx28"h):

    New link.

Here is a link that might be useful: Pedestal Table

I think the pedestal is pretty, but for some reason the top looks so bulky and wide compared to the more graceful pedestal. Perhaps it is just the angle of the pix?

If it speaks to you, the price is reasonable for a table, I would go take a look.

    Thanks, les.

It's very pretty. I think it's just the angle of the photos. I would go see in person. Great price.

I really, really like it. Looks to have a bit of inset burl, also.

That is just the size of table I'm looking for to complete my living room. With my black coffee table, I want either metal or natural wood. I swear, there are no such bargains to be found in Chicago.

BTW and OT, when do you sleep? :)

Wow! I think it is totally worth it. Call, call, call!

Parma, you are so right re: the Chicago area. I see deals every once in awhile (just last week there was an amazing Victorian dresser for $100), but they are few and far between.

It's a pretty table, a very unusual design, though. I'll bet it's a one-of-a-kind. Are you still able to go and check it out? Let us know if you get it. I'd love to see a picture of it in your own beautiful home.

*lust lust lust* Looks like it may have been skinned at some point but it's still absolutely gorgeous. If I had a spare hundred bucks (just found out yesterday that I need to go buy a dress for a wedding in a couple of weeks - the bodaciousness went a little nutso on the last round of 'roids and nothing I have fits... nothing like waiting until the last minute to send out the invitations, and they're fancy cards so it's not like it's a spur of the moment shindig! So there goes this month's play money) I'd be groveling to DH to go down to Bawstin for me and fight ya for it. ;-) So go, definitely!

    It's a lovely table -- and what a price !!

Okay--going to look at it today. Thanks for the feedback! If it's not right for me, mari, do you want me to get it anyway and hold it for you until next month?

Parma: Usually, I sleep between 2-8 or 3-9, during the summer months. Most nights, I'm writing or reading between 10-2, unless I'm caught up in paint color, pillows, or rugs. :)

My ex-husband inherited a table much like that from his mother. I always loved that walnut table. I think the price is really good and if it was near me, I'd snap it up in a skinny minute!

From seeing pictures of your lovely home, it would work well with what you have. Let us know what you decide.

OSH, nice to meet another vampire! I wrote most of my dissertation between 9 pm and 3 am. Can't quite do that anymore, though, between the kids and getting old.

Go for the table! Love it!

walkin: Must be my (and your) natural biorhythms! :)

Went to look at the table. It looks nicer in the pics. Not a bad table at all, but not really "up to par." Moving on. . . . :)

If it looks as good in person as it does in the photos, $100 is a bargain, organic. Good hunting!

Here's a comparable one on ebay right now.

Here is a link that might be useful: Eastlake walnut table

That Eastlake table almost looks like its legs have been chopped off. Hmm . . .

Attractive table. If the veneer is in good condition I'd say it's a deal.

Anele, you are probably right! I happened to be browsing ebay as I'm looking for a small mahogany side table and saw the eastlake. I looked at it again and it's only 21" tall. I bet those legs have been cut down! It's not likely to be a coffee table.

    Great eye!

You're a doll to make such an offer, OSH. (I'm catching up on a couple of days' worth of backlogged posts, been overdoing it again.) It's a very good thing it wasn't "up to par" because now I don't have to kick myself for not getting back to you sooner. :-) DH is nagging for a new coffee table when the sectional gets here since the old one is too small/narrow for it - and for once what HE wants and what I want are quite dissimilar, sigh, usually we're both right on board - so I really ought to be saving up for that.

(I did find a super-cute dress on 70%-off clearance at Fashion Bug - their clothes are such garbage but for $15 I can afford to only get a couple of wearings out of it - but let's not talk about shoes :-/ and I still have to find a wrap/shawl or something since a 10am garden wedding in early September means it could be 60 or 80F!)

I think it is worth it OS. My goodness that is the price of two months of direct TV. lol

Give me antique furniture any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
