Just my two cents worth here. Things that are not grouted tend to collect dust and grime. If they are vertical, it may not be so bad. But things that are flat (such as a box) become very dusty and dirty after awhile. I grout everything. I have read, though, that the fabulous smalti mosaics of Europe are not grouted.

Smalti is not grouted, but other than that( and I can't afford smalti) or polyclay tiles, I grout everything. Itgives it a more finished look to me

Very nice 'shroom top and I'm envious of those gorgeous diamonds on the pot! They are beautiful as is, but my 2 cents worth says to grout 'em! Like Shrty says, gives it a more finished look.

Grout them. You'll take away any sharp edge and also add a layer of protection from them falling off. Half the fun of mosaicing is deciding on the grout color!

Thanks, Cindiloo. Got those tiles off ebay -they're called Van Gogh 1/2". I have to get my tiles precut. Have "arthur" and no dexterity in my hands. I nearly cut my fingers off everytime I use a knife so... I'm sure it's a lot pricier that way. In fact, I didn't realize I'd paid so much for those tiles until now! But..., DH is into model trains, so... LOL
