midnight specials!!!

Ok..I tend to wake up in the middle of the night and have to do something before I can go back to sleep...can't clean..that'll wake the hubby sooo I mosaic...here are pictures of what I have been making in the middle of the night.

Now mind you I did not make these all in one night...it has been 1 or 2 hours each time I am up..if you click on picture they will get bigger..

this is a styrofoam star I covered..I used the black GE II and no grout..kind of has a sea star feel to me..

my husband inherited this jar but does not want me to mosaic or glass on glass on it..so I decided to fill it up old school style..I am making these different kind of balls to fill the jar..kind of like an old candy jar..it is going to take a LOT of these things to fill it!!! Pen and quarter are in picture for size reference!!!

this is a just a little bottle with more of the plastic rhinestones on it..I used black GE II

this is some lead I needed to use up so I just used scrap pieces of glass I had in my scrap bin and some glass globs.....I think of it kinda of like a mushroom on mushrooms!!!

OH CHICKEE!!! How cool!!!! Love that black ge! Who'da thunk eh? And your ideas of the micro balls, very cool! And the glueing the lead pcs! My DH is sleeping and it's like 9:30pm here, so I'm trying to play: church mouse!!!

Chickee, how creative! The star is very pretty! I like you how you have honored your husband's request by filling it with pretty objects. What a fascinating, eye-catching jar it will be for your guests. I love your idea of making the simple small things for quick little projects. I could start making Christmas ornaments NOW!

Love the 'fill the jar' idea. The balls are so neat! Are you just using styrofoam for those too or other balls?

I am using styrofoam to make the bars for the jar, I plan on getting a few different sizes, I only have two sizes at this point I want a variety so I'm gonna hunt for some different sizes.

Black GEII just started I think (for me) about last month...I know slow and tmg have used it before. They have a lot of different colors. You can get it at lowes.

I started to do the balls because they are so small and you aren't really staying up all night..which you all know how that is, you start a project and BAM next thing you know hours have past. They are fast cheap and quick...kinda like me!!!!!!! (LOL)

Love the balls. I have a cool vase, but really too big for flowes and too heavy to clean out regularly.I put christmas ornaments or Easter eggs, but other than that it sits empty.Mosaic balls would be perfect. And a quick fix when I'm short on time and a great way to use those extra little bits!!

Really nice late at night project. They look super nice in that jar. I never realized there was black silicone,hmmm
