I'm off to a 2 day Glass extravaganza on the 14,15th, ..30% off Everything in this stained glass shop, plus workshops, prizes, coffee donuts, BUT because my broken ankle is barely holding onto my lead foot, I have to go with DH.heart!!!

I am sooo envious of all you who have a hobby lobby!!! We have nothing like that!!! I could easily drop 300 in glass in a heartbeat!!!

I made the stupid mistake of telling my DH I had no more room to put any glass, boy did his ears perk up on that one!!! Lucky for him I really don't have any room as my son moved back home and now he is sleeping on the floor of my studio (which in all fairness used to be his room!!!) until he finds a place of his own.

Oh Calamity, you'd better start being super nice to him NOW.

Thanks so much for the tip about stained glass being on sale at Hobby Lobby. Usually didn't buy much glass from them as they never had anything "different". But because I saw on this forum that it was on sale, I dropped in last Saturday, and what a pleasant surprise I had! They have an entirely NEW selection of glass! And it is individually wrapped in clear plastic so no more sharp endges to cut your fingers on. The glass was beautiful...a swirly blended kind of glass with mixed colors. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING and found the perfect pieces for my next project. THANK YOU Kelly 6780 for letting it known!

Becky- Tell me about it!! They have some GORGEOUS new glass pieces with awesome colors. Super bonus: Individually wrapped! Now I don't come out of Hobby Lobby with blood dripping off my fingers running for the wal-mart! (Pretty gross, huh?) I don't know about your hob lob, but mine is getting a new one of those pieces every couple of weeks; like, a new color! I'm psyched!!

The store I stopped at had about six different colors which made it extremely difficult to decide what to mosaic my mermaid with. First I picked out a green with red streaks running through it. But my mermaid has sea shells on her top and I wanted something different for that. Then i found the perfect glass...it is bubblegum pink, with teal, blue, and green swirls. So i picked up a piece and changed my mind on the green...had to be more teal in color. The next section had the teal with blue and green swirls....perfect for the body and tail of the mermaid. I bought four pieces of that color. I noticed the price was a bit more than the other glass they have, but I didn't mind! Was excatly what I had in my head when I bought the statue. Now just need to get started.

Oh! Oh! Oh! Post a pic!! Post a pic!! I want to do a mermaid statue really bad but any of the ones I find have the mermaid's, ya know, nip-ular area all exposed and i would have to like, sand it down... and I'm just not sure I can make that happen. Ya know what I mean? BTW, I have all those glass colors so I know EXACTLY what you are talking about! Good choices! These ones are a little priceier...but they are very unique, and hello? Individually wraped. That goes a long way with me. Ya know, even when it's not on sale, you could use the coupon from the website or your local newspaper!
