I'm just DYING Here ..........

This is on Craig's list - and just 20 minutes away from me .........

have at least 200 lbs. of stained glass and beveled glass pieces (maybe more). Most pieces in this lot of glass are smaller, broken pieces that you could use for any craft - some of it is larger - also, there are many oval glass frames that are truly old - they are not convex, but they are beveled. There are many unusual colors, unusual types of glass as some of these pieces were removed directly from antique stained glass windows. Much of this glass is very dirty - I have cleaned pieces myself, and the glass is lovely - I have not bothered looking through all of it - I have a very small place, and never did what I wanted to do which was take stained glass classes and I am afraid that they may sit here for more years. You will have to haul it out of here. For the right person, this is an excellent bargain. As mentioned, much of it is dirty, but some of it looks very good! I also have the polisher, etc., but if you don't wish to purchase that separately, then I would sell that on Ebay. Maybe someone would want to split the glass and the cost with you.

I would def be giving her a call right now and negotiate a price before somebody else does!!!

Aw TMG... you gotta have places to stash it!?! Under the bed? Behind the refrig? In the back of the closet? Come on.... there is ALWAYS a place for just a tiny little bit more glass!!! :) Go for it!!!

Here's the reply I Wrote to her --- maybe being funny will get her to reduce the price. ( I Haven't told DH yet )

I Just read your ad on Craig's list about your stained glass. I do stained glass and mosaics , and thought maybe your glass would work for me. However ..... I was wondering if your price is negotiable . My husband would make me sleep in the garage ( along with all that glass ) if I spent $200 . If your ad has been up for awhile and no one buys it , and you can part with it for a lot less, I' ll be happy to take it !

Oh Geeze ......... I really WILL be sleeping in the garage if I buy this. More glass is a SHATTERING subject in this house. I'm hoping to get it for $100. We'll see .

WOW TMG! Hopefully she'll take you up on it! It sounds like some interesting pcs in there but it also has to be stored someplace and that's what my prob is!! If I ever moved I'd need a 30x40ft room just for my "stuff"!!!

OMG! What a find! We are such enablers around here, but this is a very serious investment. I can think of some serious posibilities. Hope it works out and show us a pic of the stash when you get it home!!

Ok, you know what I just did, doncha? I just went back to the Updated Locations thread to see where you live! Unfortunately, Milwaukee and northern Arkansas are way more than 20 minutes apart. bummer.

HEY! (Do you hear me screaming???) You have all (ok, not all, lots of new people, too bad for them, I'm wicked) our addresses from one of the swaps! (Something I wrote BAMA a few minutes ago reminded me of this.) You can send 10 pounds of it to 20 different ones of us, and DH will just think you're sending out a bunch of watering cans again! Yeah, I'm lovin' it! :)

Well -- the lady contacted me back - and said she paid over $300 for it and wants to get at least $200 . We had a nice chat about glass and I told her about Mosaics. Now she wants to try it ! - But she will keep my email and if she conders taking less - she'll let me know. Like everyone here - she's running out of room in her house ! LOL

PS --------- That really would be nice if we could split the treasure ! LOL

Oh, TMG, sorry it didn't work out for you. How sweet of you to give her other options to use her stash though. Teaching people there is another way to look at glass, whatta lady!
