What to look for during window installation?

As mentioned in my earlier post (http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/windows/msg0922042330909.html?5) we are about to replace all of our current windows with Loewen Douglas fir all wood windows with vertical grain jamb. The windows were delivered on the 28th of Nov., they are being painted indoors starting Monday, Dec 1st. The installer estimated two days of painting for two coats of paint. After a few days break, the installation starts on the 4th. of Dec.

This will be a brick to brick installation. Is there a good web site where I can read about the installation process in deatil? The Loewen installation guide talks about new construction only. I am not sure if it applies in this case. The packing list says "no drip cap or galvanized nail flng" for each item, what does it mean? Also, during the installation process what should I look for to ensure that the installation is done right? It's a big budget item (total cost ~35,000 US$), I am naturally apprehensive about the whole thing. Thanks in advnace for your inputs.
