Thanks for loving my stuff, i so love making it. Im addicted these days.
To make the mirror, I copperfoiled and soldered a peice of glass, mosaiced it, grouted it then soldered on the ball chain and crystal.

Oh That is also BEAUTIFUL!!! I LOVE your kitchen too. And did you ever show us the butterflies I can just barely see??

I love how you have mixed the two mediums. So you don't have any problem grouting with the soldered foil on the glass? Oh man, this I can do! I have an unframed round mirror I have had for tooooo many years - think back to macrame days. So this is a perfect way for me to finish it. I've wanted to GOG on it but couldn't decide how to frame it. Thanks for sharing!

I have never even liked the color blue on anything...
except the SKY and the Ocean !!!!>... because growing up my older sister had blue for her favorite color... and she seemed to always get to pick... blue this... b l u e that....BLUE EVERYTHING>>>!!! (we shared a room !!) well she drove me crazy with that B L U E thing !!! so when she went off th college.... I said... NEVER BLUE AGAIN !!!

I made the butterflies years ago, when I 1st began glass. d3- when copperfoiling an edge, I make sure I bead the solder as thick as possible without it running of the edge. It makes a lovely smooth border.

Im proud of myself, I cant remember a day in my life I didnt love craft of all kinds!!! My nan put the seed in me when I was a really young child! :)

Very Vintage- Wow thats so awesome. That really does fit into your kitchen. It complements and goes with everything. The ball chain is such a nice touch. I really am gonna have to get me some of that stuff. It looks so elegant hanging on the mirror like that!!!!!

In your mirror picture I can see your cupboard doors...you did those to didnt you?? Can we have a picture of those and the butterflies hanging above your sink? PLEEEAASE!!!!!!

anyway, I also am not a fan of blue, I mean it's a fine color and all but that kitchen is the epitome of a great combination of blue!

it makes me want to bake some fresh bread and not in a machine..I mean actually get out the stuff and make it on the counter...and that's a compliment, believe me!

I still won't have a blue kitchen but I sure can admire yours.
I will always love that red kitchen of 'weird gardens'...lol

Your work is beautiful. Have a question for you. When you put the silicone on the glass, do you apply directly from the tube? The only way I could keep control was to put a glob of it on some paper and then use the fat end of a tooth-pick to put it on the glass.(For very small pieces.) Almost none of it ended up in the grout lines. There is an even easier method of putting the stained glass on contact paper first, silicone the base glass, and then transfer the stained glass. I find almost no mess with this menthod. And so much easier.

and how do you hold the contact paper down?
or keep it from attracting dust and anything else, as you work?

Seaglassic, because I find this so much easier, I'm taking pics of my WIP so I can share this technique. Actually, I think it's an old menthod. Watch for a post later. I may get it done tomorrow. If I get off my b.... I'll title it 'New method'.

The blue of all the glass really makes for a bright cheery kitchen. I love all of your things. I'm not really a blue person either, but maybe this will get me to try some. Really, really sick of using green all the time.
