A little overwhelming, isn't it? Yeah, Hazie, I think you would have to donate your mosaiced home as a museum if you decided you didn't want to live in it any longer. I love to watch HGTV when they show people's unusual homes to see how creative and bold others are.

You ladies!!!!! I couldn't achieve that in a lifetime. Haven't started on the house other than the b.r. counter, but I'm thinking of it. Since I have no more room to put ANYTHING, if I continue mosaicing, it'll have to be on doors/frames/walls etc. I WONDER if they grout all that.

WOW This is VERY cool!!!! Am I seeing mosaic on trees? Or are they posts? I would LOVE to go see this is person.

Hazie. I always have to keep resale in mind too. I think this is why I started doing my furniture. OMG it will be SO HEAVY if we decide to move. And just think of the mountains of bubble wrap I will need. Hehehehehehe

Too Bad I missed the eppisode on HGTV. Would have liked to see some close-ups. Isnt that something? I too thought I saw some mosaiced tree trunks. I guess thats what they do as a job, did you all notice the "Donation" Click? Hmm!

I think I will put a "donation" sign on my mailbox. I need more supplies.
Or maybe a sign.. I will work for glass : ) [and glue and wedi board.. ah the list is endless]

I saw them on hgtv,I've recorded it,they are darling,they met in a paint store,she makes tile and he breaks it.the entire house inside and out is covered .they have a big studio at the back of the house and sell there.You have to see how they interact with each other to appreciate it.

I wrote her an email asking about what adhesive they used and if they sealed the grout etc.
I got a reply tonight! Here's what she said.

Susan- thank you for your e-mail--
in the beginning we used mastic, liquid nails, mortar
rubber cement, glue gun ,wheat paste every thinnset
that home depot sells and tar--the cheapest thinnset works best for us it's just as strong as the more expensive ones (it is cement based!)
Instead of sealing we wait for grout to discolor
and wherever discoloring happens we re=grout- thalo blue deep from Nova Color seems to hold up as a strong color other than earth tones and black
we've tried many bright colors 10 years later the blue is the most enduring for outdoors ---
On saturdays from 12 to 5 we open the house for $10 tours when you like bring your mosaic buddies, bring them all!!!
