I've had a similar experience, having used BM in the northeast and then finding the widespread use of Dunn Edwards when I moved to the southwest. We use DE on the exterior because of its ability to withstand the sun and heat.

Last year we used it inside to paint the bathroom vanity. My husband did the painting and says that to him it seems equivalent to BM. I was happy with the results.

Cyn10, thank you. That helps. Amazing how after 10 years the stucco outside still looks very good ... that would not happen in the northeast. Our cedar clapboard houses would start to show wear after 4 years.

When we lived in SoCal, the painters there also only wanted to use DE paint, so we did, and it held up very well. I tried to do a color match from Home Depot when I needed a quick touchup and ran out of DE, and it definitely didn't work. When I got the real DE color, the paint seemed to cover much better also. Seemed very good quality to me.

We've been using Dunn Edwards for ten years now, inside and out, and have had no problems. It seems very durable.
