Stunning! where'd ya get the bod?

I just found it laying around in one -o-my boxes, can't even remember buying it!!! lol! Was going to put a crystal hanging down or legs but am waaay behind on stuff and still have to make a jewelery box for DD before she gets home, IN 4 hrs!!! Good thing it's 1/2way cut out! And if I really push it, I wanna get her TP Tower done too! LOL! As long as I don't go near food(wah!) I'm okay with this flu bug! Wish me luck!

Well that's gorgeous. She should love it, at least I do.
And I learned something from it. I made a dragon with a metal body several years ago, and I had a heck of a time making it hang correctly. I never thought to put hooks on the wings, what a great idea! So thank you:)

Jane, those are just gorgeous!!! Is the butterfly done with lead? I'll bet it was a bugger getting those wings on that body!!! I absolutely love it. I would love to make some of these. Your color choices where wonderful. You are on such a role. I love all the stuff your making these days!!!

Chickee; I use hobby came around everything as a finishing touch, it's kinda asignature mark for me, I just like the thick even look of the outside that way. It's a lead body that are sold in a pkg. I am getting better at attaching the body and wings these days and like doing 3d stuff. DS is home and a friend gave me a 1000 pc puzzle to do with him! So my craft table is cleared off and we are giving it the ol' college try! 1000pcs!!! DS loves doing puzzles, I basically find border pcs and try to sort stuff, could care less except hangin' w/DS!!! This is a bulldog puzzle so we are gonna finish it and hang it on the wall...in the ART ROOM!!!

On the butterfly - is the hobby came just on the outside of it, or are all the pieces wrapped in hobby came? Your work is so NEAT!!!

Can I ask you what size the hobby came is, and where you get it? My instructor mentioned hobby came, also, but I've done searches on all the suppliers in my "faves" and haven't had any hits.

I am using the stuff Mary posted, I bought a box of it, it was yrs ago and was like $75/box. I only use it on the outside, it is U shaped not H. I like to use it to harden the outside of panels too, I solder it onto the copper foil around the edges and so it makes it super strong. I bought it off a guy who had his own shop and sold really nice small pcs that he dipped in his own electroplating system.He was mass producing little window things, but I can't seem to make more than a few of the same thing and move on. Now you can get those kinds of things at the dollar stores, made in china, for nuthing! In china and elsewhere they have robots that solder lamps etc and sell for very reasonable.

My eyes are cross-eyed from lack of sleep...but this sure straightened them out! Beautiful....just beautiful!!!
