You can get the woven wood blinds with the top down bottom up feature. You can find those from just about any place you can order blinds from - JC Penny, Lowes, Home Depot and all the other online stores that sell blinds.

Hope that helps.

We have light colored woven wood blinds/shades with top down/bottom up in our bedroom at our beach house. Love them! Unfortunately for you, we got them through a local installer and I don't even know what brand they are, but I do know that they exist! Have you checked Smith & Noble?

I'll check them out..I was really hoping to get them with the wooden slats rather than woven (I like to be able to peek out the window quickly without messing with strings, etc..)

we had top down-bottom up pleated shades in our bathroom for almost 9 years and mold/mildew was never an issue...

i have never seen a woven wood shade that provided complete privacy, so if you go the woven wood route, make sure you get them lined, if privacy is needed.

i have never seen 2" wood blinds come in a top down option... and, fwiw, i put faux wood blinds on one of my son's bathroom window and never would again---in the bathroom a blind that easily pulls up and down(or down/up) is what i perfer and the faux wood were too heavy to constantly pull up and down it seemed...

Wood blinds have two mechanisms for light control: opening and closing the slats, and raising and lowering the whole blind, from the bottom up. The top- down shades have only one mechanism, which allows them to be raised from bottom up or lowered from top down. To my knowledge, no one makes the kind of blind you desire.

That's what I figured..Thanks everyone for your advice.. I appreciate it..like I said, don't ya hate when you know what you want and can't find it...ugh..gotta come up with plan b..

Hitting a brick wall stinks. Why don't you assess your preferences and desires and share them with the "Ask the Expert" tool on Bali Binds FB page. I always say "you don't know what you don't know". Since they know what all is out there, maybe they will suggest something that you never considered. It's worth a try anyway. I've noted the link to the website, but it is the FB page that I think you really want for the Expert advice.
