Oo, that's cute. No idea about the age. How do you plan to use it? It seems a shame to wrap a gift and have it torn off and thrown away after all this time.

Frame it? Decoupage something?

Actually, I am framing a bunch of it to give to our nieces and nephews and DH's siblings for Christmas.

MIL used it to wrap gifts for many years. Now she just writes checks :) It's like the loaves and fishes of wrapping paper. There is still a ton left. When my kids were little they called it the alien paper because they thought the black tear drop shapes were the eyes.

What cute paper and a great idea to frame and give as a gift.

This thread reminds me about a small roll of antique floral wallpaper that I found in my husband's aunt's basement when we were cleaning out after her death. The wallpaper was so pretty that I hated to throw it out. I have had it for about 25 years. It sits in a drawer awaiting a project, But what project, I don't have a clue.

It screams 50's to me. The colors, pattern, repetition of design are very much like popular barkcloth designs of that era. Now if you come up with some barkcloth, let me know; I love that stuff!

My first thought was 60's - seems to me too humorous for the 50's...it is adorable! But I nearly spit out the juice I was drinking when I read that comment about the aliens! Too funny!!!!!!!!!!

I could see it as '50s/'60s, or even early-mid '80s for use in a children's area.

I'd say late 50s early 60s because of the colorway.

My second guess would be that it was new about the time your in-laws got it in the early 80s, again because of the colorway.
