I have the 30" freezer top Frigidaire frig, 3yrs old. My main complaint, and it's a huge one, is that I keep condiments in the door, and it's made for big bottles, so the bottles are always slipping through the opening. Also, one of the plastic bands that holds the bottles on the little shelf in the door has broken. So whichever model you get, make sure the door shelves work for how you'll use it. Maybe the bigger, higher end ones have better door design.

Also, the July2011 Consumer Reports rated all kitchen appliances. For french door bottom freezers, side-by-sides, and top freezers, some Frigidaires were recommended, but no GE's. Frigidaire Gallery was a best buy in side-by-sides. For what it's worth.

I have a Frigidaire Gallery range (LGEF3033KW) and have been very happy with it so far. The "quick bake" convection feature is a HUGE bonus and well worth the extra money - it cooks food in literally half the time. I did a LOT of research before buying my appliances and felt like I got the best deal for the features I wanted. Don't bother with the store's extended warranty, though - Frigidaire will send you a warranty form in the mail, and it's a lot cheaper if you do it directly through them.

We went all Frigidaire for our new house, but since the house is not built yet we haven't used them...they are still in the boxes actually.
That being said, I can tell you that they make an over the range microwave as we purchased one.

I had 2 Frigidaire refrigerators in my other house that were absolute junk. Sorry I can't say my experience wasn't better.

I have a Frigidaire Pro refrigerator - basic two-door style with top freezer. I bought it because it had silver sides instead of the more usual black sides.

Love the organization inside. It came with these blue rubber mats to put in the door components so that things don't slide around when you open & close the door. I don't know if other fridges come with these, but they're great.

Don't love the refrigerator otherwise though. It's ridiculously noisy. Had to adjust the leveling a million times because I'd get extra vibration noise that could be adjusted away, but that always came back. Had the store out a couple of times to adjust it, but it didn't help.

The ranges look nice, but I ended up getting GE because the GE OTR microwave got better reviews than the Frigidaire, and I wanted the same brand for those two pieces so that the door handles would match. Maybe it's just as well.

It's a case of you get what you pay for. They're low cost builders grade until you get to the more spendy label ones like the Pro line. Those have some extra features for the money that you don't find in the competition at that price, but the build quality isn't much better than the builder grade ones. I'd much rather spend more money for better quality. And "brand packages" don't give you the best deals. No manufacturer makes the best in each category. For a low cost price point package, I'd want a GE range, LG fridge, Bosch DW, a Sharp MW and a Broan hood. No Frigidaire anywhere.

I just ordered the pro electric slide in and microwave. I do think the GE is a good option if you like the styling - but I liked the knobs, door and handle of the Frigidaire better than the GE. My other choice was the GE cafe - but didn't want to pay $3000. I read very poor reviews on the Frigidaire fridge and went with the Samsung instead. It has a similar handle. Already had a kitchenaid DW that works very well (4 years old).

I hope I didn't make a mistake - but the "look" was important to me and I wanted to keep the "package" below $4000 delivered.

I hope their decent, I have 5 appliances coming wednesday that are Fridgeaire. Pro series for the kitchen, and affinity washer and dryer...

we fell for a package deal... it worked out to about 50% off list after rebates for the package. seems like it is worth it, they had a quality feel and good looks.

I keep reading about and googling Frigidaire appliances looking for a good review!!! Really would love to get them for our new house when we build, but I keep hearing not such great things. Most builders around here put in GE / GE Profile. But I just hate the way the GE range looks -- the shape of the glass, the black tint to the glass, etc. The Frigidaire just looks SO much better!!!

I have the Frididaire Pro line (counterdepth fridge, slide-in dual fuel range with warming drawer, OTR micro/hood, and dishwasher). It was a fantastic package deal from a local appliance store and I'm thrilled with the whole set.

The range is my favorite, but everything works great. I will say the water dispenser on the side by side fridge is a bit slow (stream is pretty small), but it doesn't bother my DH, who uses it the most. The first dishwasher they delivered had a cracked tub, but the store service people quickly diagnosed it and replaced it with a brand new model that works fine.

I've had them for 2 1/2 years with no problems (other than the first lemon dishwasher). If you can go through a local appliance store with good warranty and service people, I wouldn't hesitate to go with Frigidaire for the price.

dash - I was hung up on the shape and color of the glass, too! I found some decent reviews for the range - the fridge not so good reviews. I also liked the Jennaire slide in but the reviews weren't very good and the price was higher.

Had a frigidaire dw that was super noisy and did not clean well. Replaced with a kitchen aid. Did go with a frigidaire pro electric slide in range for the reno because it had all the features we needed with good reviews. So far, so good with the range. But its only been used for just over a month.

I've had 2 Frigidaire ranges--one ceramic electric with a convection oven, the other gas dual fuel. Both worked great, never had a problem with them (although as a general principle, I'd happily back a truck over whomever invented ceramic cook-tops). The convection oven made a particularly tasty chicken, as I recall.

Our Frigidaire Gallery Pro range has been trouble free. No complaints at all, well, it doesn't have the firepower I'd like, but that's not its fault. 11 years old.

The Frigidaire Gallery Pro side-by-side refrigerator did a great job as a stasis box within which no time passed, but the through-the-door water stopped working, the icemaker stopped working, the plastic bins cracked, and finally it puked refrigerant on the floor and died. 11 years old.

The Frigidaire Gallery Pro OTR microwave died at 6 y/o. I replaced it, and the new door hinge broke at the spot weld at 5 years, I fixed it. Oh, it doesn't do much venting either.

The Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher does a great job washing dishes, doesn't care what detergent I use, requires no rinse aid, and the basic cycle is 90 minutes. However, the stainless panel falls off every year or so, being held on by one tab and one sheetmetal screw per side. Only takes a couple minutes to reattach, but irritating. 11 years old (I guess the former owner bought a package, ya think?)

Knowing that these were not terribly expensive appliances, I'm not as grumpy about the failings as I'd be if we were talking $8K a piece. But we're not talking appliances made to last a generation. No-one is going to be coveting my vintage Frigidaires in 2050, like we ooh and aah over a 1940's O&M today. It is disposable stuff.

However - my experience is with circa-2000 Frigidaire stuff, so it may not hold true for circa-2011 appliances.

We recently bought a frigidaire gallery range and OTR microwave. The range is gas so I wont' go into detail there but I have to admit that I'm not super impressed with either. I got one of the most expensive OTR micro options (there are several within the gallery series). After installation, we noticed there was a dent in it just above the handle (is actually touching the handle)...it looks like it happened when they connected the handle to it during the manufacturing process. We tried to replace it but we bought the last one and it was out of stock everywhere. I decided just to live with it but it always annoys me.

I've had a lot of microwaves in my lifetime and all of them were no more than half the price of this one. Yet they all cooked better. I often have to cook things twice the recommended time and they may still be raw in the middle. I did not have this issue with the same item with my last few micros. This microwave has convection but I have not tried it yet so I can't comment on that aspect. The range functions well although the convection feature hasn't given me the results I was hoping for so I stick with the standard bake now.

The most annoying thing of all is that the timer on both the microwave and the range does not stop beeping until you get up and turn it off. It just keeps going and going and going....and it's super annoying. I read this complaint in reviews a lot but decided I could live with it but now that I'm experiencing it, I take that back. It's not always possible to get to it right away, with 3 little ones including a nursing baby.

The other thing that bothers me is that the appliances have the "frigidaire gallery" label on them but they are not in the same spot. I mostly bought the microwave so that it would go with the range since it was going to be so close in proximity. The label is centered on the range but it's left of center on the microwave. So if you are standing there looking at them, they don't line up. It's not a huge deal but it bothers me.

Those are my gripes but that's me being picky. Overall, they are fine.

I'd go with the Kitchen Aid. Better quality and better product. IMO

We have some Frigidaire Gallery appliances that came with our house, we will be replacing them sooner than later. They are just not made very well, or for the duration.

Fwiw, someone above mentioned Consumer Reports. Take everything you read from them with a grain of salt. A big grain of salt. And then don't believe it.

I have your basic top mount model. Bought it used 2-3 years ago and it has never had a bit of trouble. Just keeps working and cooling. Very dependable

Forget Frigidaire. We had one installed in a new home. It did not work. The replacement did not work either. Hoping to get our money back. Go with something that actually works.

My parents have had tons of repairs with their French door fridge (with water/ice maker). The even had something that frigid aide has covered out of warranty since having lots of issues per the repair person.

talking to Frigidaire about crappy product is a waste of time. If I can save one person from the misery we have endured, I'm all too happy to do so.

Don't waste $$$ on Frigidaire Professional anything. They are poorly engineered.

As a general matter, it might be better to start your own thread rather than pull up an old one. For one thing, the original poster (and others depending on their settings for this fourum) may well get emailed every time someone posts to a thread they have long since lost interest in. For another, many people read the first post or two and not the entire thread and then waste their time responding to an old thread. Those readers would not even see your post at all as it is buried in this old thread.

Secondarily, you might consider posting this in the appliances forum, as that's where appliance discussions generally happen.

You might also find people more likely to listen to your advice if you provide more details about your bad experiences. Every brand produces some lemons. There are negative reviews of every appliance somewhere. The specifics (and the number of such reviews) are what most people find useful in making decisions.
