No wonder this door is as gorgeous as it is......Mahogany wood, cherry stain. Masonite is a long way from achieving the SAME look. Thanks for double checking. FYI: Our home faces west. We needed to stay in budget and so we went with a masonite door. I know from a maintenance perspective I needed to do what we did.....however, the door doesn't look like this one in the wood grain or the stain tone. Oh well, It will be easy to maintain.

Yes, Mahogany has a beautiful vein. Mahogany wood is a very resistant wood for exterior applications. In addition, if a proper exterior finish is used, it will also protect the door against harsh weather conditions. Recommended maintenance to our doors is every 2 years depending on the exposure. The finish we use does not recommend to even sand down the door before use, just simply apply a clear coat after cleaning the door. Therefore, maintenance to our doors are also very easy. Maybe for next time!! :o)
