Have you demo'd your old kitchen yet? If not my wholehearted advice would be to buy one of these and put it on your most used drawer or cabinet and see what it feels like in real life. Live with it for a bit. Actually USE it. See if your fingers get caught when you're in a rush. If you have trouble getting ahold of it. It's an inexpensive trial period and then you'll know.

The other thing to notice is that, yes they say that the length of the pull is 6 1/2" but that is from tip to tip. The actual length of where you can comfortably put your fingers is probably about 3" long and 7/8" high. I can probably fit 2 fingers, uncomfortably, in that space.

If you are going to rub the drawer front with your hand every time you grab the pull you should get a deeper projection. You will wear the finish off your cabinets.

Thank you all for your advice. We have demo'd the kitchen already (cabinets are being refinished now), so putting one on the drawers isn't feasable. I did buy a sample pull as I wanted to actually see what it felt like before buying enough for the whole kitchen, and thought it felt too tight. I just measured it, and the clearance is actually around 5/8" inch, not 7/8" as advertised.

The pull is 3 3/4" from hole to hole. I have a handle from another manufacturer with the same hole spacing but it has a little over 1" projection and feels like it would be comfortable to use.

Too bad, since the pull I wanted is nicely finished and is very solid. The knobs are very nice also. I'll keep looking. Wearing the finish off of my newly refinished cabinets is definitely something I don't want to do.
