I love my Kitchen Aid. Had it one year. No issues. Be prepared to purchase all new pots and pans! If a magnet won't stick to the bottom of what you have now, you will need to purchase an entire set.

I did get a new set of pots and pans, and love them, but I forgot one thing. I need a baking pan for roasts, so I can bring it out of the oven, and make gravy with the brown bits in the bottom. That's on my list right after the rest of the stuff on that list. Induction friendly pots and pans are not cheap.

Induction friendly pots and pans are not cheap.

Depends what you consider cheap! IKEA 365+ pots and pans work excellently on induction and they're cheap (by anyone's standards). I got the Tramontina Triply Clad from Wal-Mart and consider them pretty inexpensive ($139 for a 2-qt, 3-qt and 5-qt all with covers, an 8" and a 10" frying pan).

Well, since induction cooking has been around in Europe for quite a while, I'd probably go with Electrolux.

In fact, I just looked at the equivalent of German consumer report, and AEG/Electrolux scored the best and was actually the least expensive. Others tested were Bauknecht, Miele, Siemens...

Another one with good test scores was IKEA for substantially less.

There's plenty of inexpensive induction friendly pots. as said, Ikea. Costco has sets under 200 for a large array of pots and pans. TJ Marshall's and Macys have pots starting at 15 or 20 dollars. You dont have to buy Allclad or Demeyere, just not necessary. There are lots of threads about affordable induction capable cookware. Search and read.
