Your kitchen sounds beautiful and these tiles are lovely. However, this is such a personal item that will be a permanent part of your backsplash that I would be concerned that, when you sell the house, potential buyers would think they would have to install a new backsplash---unless their last name began with a W. If resale is not a concern, then go for it.

In my community initials in woodwork, etc. were the family stamp on a high-end mansion. You are the owner, stamp away.

Could you sew it into a roman shade? Stencil it on a shade or on the wall somewhere? Stencil on center of floor? Have it etched into cupboard glass?

It's a wonderfully outrageous idea, but as was noted, it severely limits future occupant pool unless it's easily removable.

I think its a great idea as long as you aren't moving anytime soon!b

Thanks everyone! We just bought the house in February. I told my DH "I am never moving again, we are just going to have to die in this house". :D

I love the idea, and I like the first design best. The second one looks like it would work over a doorway, or on the back of a chair.
Here's a tile that someone did in their wine cellar, and like you, she vowed to never move again.
