Preference on nightstands (pics)

Last night I picked up a nightstand at Homesense (on a mission to find a match at another store now...)

I planned on using this (or 2 hopefully...)in the guest room.

Then today I thought...mmm...maybe for our bedroom instead.

The cabinet is creamy/yellowish with edges painted gray. (Should I use in spare room, I'll be change the cream color to white...)

The nightstands in our room are too low so thought I'd try this new one. Of course this will only be an option if I find a matching 2nd one.

Which nightstand do you think works better in the room? I've included a few other pics to give you an idea what is in there...

(there's a matching dresser to the nightstands that you can't see...honestly...not my fave set, but caved as DH wanted)

I still haven't changed curtains...the blue silk ones I love are still tucked away in a closet...just waiting to come our, lol. Again, DH likes the dark ones to block out the light.I have some new pics not yet hung.

Help!Should I live with the low brown nightstands or is the new one a better size? (I can keep looking too!!)

Thanks for any suggestions!

Option 1 (existing low brown nighstands)

New nightstand (what are the chances I'll find a match at another store...the joys of Homesense)

The new ones are a much better size. Without seeing the other things in the room its hard to make a decision stylewise.

You can get block out panels or a block out shade to block the light out and use the panels you like on top.

The nightstands don't have to match, necessarily.

    I think I need to use spell-check,lol.

Other idea I had was to get another set of the mirror tables (again, if still available) and use those for nightstands.

The white chair is moving down to our now finished basement and I'll be getting a new (smaller) chair for this corner.

Also, hardwood floors are being installed in early December. (that carpet can't be gone soon enought!)

I do like the proportion of the new table better, but maybe I'm grabbing on the fly and best to keep looking for this room. Just going around in circles again...

Pal~yes, maybe that's what I should do on the drapes. They've been hidden in a closet for almost 2 yrs and time to use them! Thanks:)

I love the new nightstand. You cannot let a guest have it!

I actually don't like exact matches; just get one that coordinates in scale and color.

I like the new pillows and drapes, too. Dreamy

Love the new nightstand. You must keep it.

WHY are all of the nightstands so low, when so many of us have our beds quite high these days? It's a read pain! Good luck finding another one or something that will work with the one you just bought.

I would use the new nightstand on one side, and the mirrored tables on the other. I think the mirrored tables would be nice by the bed on one side, and would also seem more special - by the chair they are kind of competing with the round mirror.

I would also lose the sleeping pillows that seem to be behind the decorative euro shams in the second picture. They look okay from the front, but the side view is not as nice - kind of messy.

I bet you can find a way to extend the legs on your current nightstand. Try woodworking sites like VanDykes. There has to be something that could add a few inches.

    I like either nightstand equally.

I like the height of the new nightstand, but like the darkness of the old nightstand better, for the contrast it provides.

I agree with Les, mirrored set on one side , white new one on the other.
Is your bed centered on the wall, it seems not but it could just be the angle of the picture.
The pale drapes are lovely also.

I agree with fillagirl "I like the height of the new nightstand, but like the darkness of the old nightstand better, for the contrast it provides."

I miss the contrast with the new nightstands, but I think they are a better fit with the overall space of the room.
