Kitchen decorating help needed

Does anyone have any suggestions for decorating the space to the right of the door in the picture to make it look more balanced with the left side of the door? We don't have enough of the 4 x 4 backsplash tile ( and can't get more, although we have plenty of mosaic tile) to extend the backsplash to that wall. Starting over with the backsplash is not an option. The door leads to a porch and was a last minute addition. We probably should have had the cabinets on the wall to the right of the door wrap around the corner so that they better matched the cabinets to the left of the door, but it is probably too late to do anything about that now. Does anyone have any ideas for this space? I have thought of putting in a chair rail even with the bottom of the upper cabinet and then painting the area below the chair wall a color that is a shade lighter than the 4 x 4 backsplash, but then decided that would might look too much like I was trying to fake a backsplash. Is my best option to put something decorative (wine rack?) that is about the height that a backsplash would be to fill up the area that looks like it should have a backsplash? Should I just hang a vertical grouping of pictures in the space to the left of the cabinet? I am not a creative person, so any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Wine rack sounds like a great idea. Could also use a tray, or even your knife blocks if they fit. A 'cosmetic' fix for a minor kitchen flaw.

I would think if you could put some more of the field tile on that side then set something in front of it the larger back splash tiles will not be missed. The door brakes it up enough.
Lovely kitchen.

gwbr54 and shades of idaho, thanks for the replies and I apologize for taking so long to check back in. Thanks for saying it is a minor kitchen flaw, that helps! The 4 x 4 tiles are glass and the color is close to SW Blonde. The walls in my kitchen are currently painted SW Chatroom as are the walls of the rooms that flow into my kitchen. I need to keep the area above the cabinets chatroom. I am wondering if it would help if I painted the rest of the kitchen walls SW Ivoire, which according to SW is a complementary color to chatroom, or SW Blonde or maybe just off white like the counter. Any thoughts on that? I do have Blonde and Ivoire in other rooms in the house. Thanks again for the help!

Your kitchen looks so nice! Maybe you could find something long and skinny in the same dark tones of the mosaic tile to hang there. Really, beautiful kitchen!

I feel your pain! Why does building or redecorating have to be so hard sometimes. We just put in a new frameless shower door & it was done wrong & they have to come back.
You know looking at your picture, it doesn't look bad the way it is. But if it bothers you, I would try hanging something to cover most of it or block it from view. Those little things that drive us nuts when we are building, seems to not be so BIG after moving in & everything in place. Even keeping a fresh flower arrangement low & wide might work there. Good luck & keep us posted. Bonnie

Narrow spice rack! It will be shallow too. I made one stained to match my cabinets to fill a similar odd space. But do those cabinets on the right open far enough to put anything there that is not completely flat and flush to the wall? The picture is really dark, hard to tell.

Honestly - I'm a person that like symmetry and oddities often bother me, but to me it looks fine like it is in the picture.
