Each of the materials is wonderful, and the play among them is indeed breathtaking. Special compliments on the natural light designed into your space. The space as a whole has a kind of unworldly calm.

Surely you aren't going to mess it up with nere earthly food?

I've been watching your home being built. Everything is stunning, including this kitchen. Love the beautiful woods. Lately, is seems most of the kitchen are white cabinets, white counters, white subway backsplash, white walls, white floors, and SS appliances. Don't get me wrong, they are all fabulous. But yours is a breathe of fresh air. Your backsplash is to die for!!

I almost never get carried away in commenting on a kitchen, but if I was, yours would have to be one of them. Like others before me, I agree, it does go together very well. Love the walnut! Really like the wide pcs. of flooring. Countertops, lites, and appliances all fit together. Great job!

Oh wow! I've been following on the building forum, but was excited to see kitchen details. It is beautiful. Walnut is my favorite wood too, it has such beautiful grain, and the way you have it paired with these other amazing stones and colors and textures.... well, it is beautiful! Congrats...looking forward to seeing the "other kitchens" too!

A tip for those who like the backsplash -- I got the 8x20 onyx tiles from the Tile Shop. They sell it in three varieties. Honey Creme (what I used), Mandarin (with some burgundy/red), and Medley (with some black).

Warm, rich and very inviting. I love the wood contrasts. But then I'm a sucker for the natural grains of great wood. I love the zen feeling of the colors. Wonderful!
