I recently purchased two 8ft sofas. Normally they will face each other in front of the fireplace, however, I would occasionally like to place them in an "L" configuration (say at Christmas) My room is large so I thought of purchasing a 12 X 15 area rug and placing every thing on that, or I could just do an 8 X 10 under the coffee table with sofa legs resting on a portion, or I could do a 10 X 14 on it's side and both sofas resting on it, or I even thought of a simple 8' Square. I'm looking at hand knotted rugs and don't want to cover the whole thing if it's expensive but on the other hand I like the warmth and sound insulation that a larger rug would provide. I'll try and upload a photo of how they are placed now.
