long over due update

It's been forever since I've been on here and just wanted to update some of my old posts but since I can't seem to find them I'll start new : )

We still have a lot of unfinished projects but I want to share a few pictures of what we have accomplished so far.

China cabinet and fridge, shelves above fridge still need trimmed out. The china cabinet was originally stained dark (from our last house) but I painted it to match the cabinets.

Great ! I initially read your log on name as farm chick ...:) So are you on a farm ? Where in the country ? Your choice of standalone cabs etc is so charming. Would love to hear some history about the house and your choices. Thanks for the pics ! c

Yes, we're in Missouri and we raise horses and cattle. We built our home new about a year and a half ago. My husband builds homes for a living so ours always take a little longer to get finished but it's worth the wait for what we save in labor. We knew we wanted stained wood walls ceilings and floors but I wanted to get away from the lodge, cabin look we had in our last house. We were both a little worried about how it would look to mix the stained wood with the pastel patterns and colors that I love but in the end we're both happy with how it turned out and that's all that matters right?
My husband built the house and all our cabinetry (kitchen, bath) and some of furnishings (kitchen table, master bed, china cabinet, shelving) I'm in charge of the painting, staining and decorating.
Thank you all for your nice compliments. I'll post more pics as I have time. Feel free to give any advice on any changes you would make.
