Comments on plan for new kichen please

I'm quite new to this forum and have found there is a lot of information here. I am tossing out everything and redoing my 22-yr old condo kitchen. It seems that every day I get a new idea to refine my plan. Choosing the appliances now seems easy compared to choosing the cabinets. The latest idea I had was to add about a foot to the kitchen by removing the wall between the dining room and kitchen. We will be eating in the dining room and just have two stools in the kitchen. The wall to be removed is the wall at the lower left where there are two base cabinets. The cabinets will open on the dining room side and the other side will have a 12-inch overhang for sitting. This wall had a doorway and a pass through window so there is not much wall to remove. The doorway near the cabinets just leads to a utility room for the furnace and water heater. The picture was created with kitchen planning software.

I'll start.

Can you move things a bit?
1. If yes, I'd move the DW/sink closer to the fridge, to give the area between sink and range more space. Seems cramp in that corner.
Then you can put the trash between sink and corner.

2. I would pull out the base cabinets along the fridge wall to be 29"+ deep countertop, so that a standard-depth fridge (lower price than counter-depth) doesn't stick out as far, can look more built-in, AND you get the benefits of deeper countertops.
(be sure to pull the cabinet above the fridge out also).

3. Where will your MW go?

I am not really understanding the opposite wall, so perhaps a view from another direction.

good luck,
Amanda

Condo walls generally have important things inside them and are more costly to move than a single family home due to needing trades that can deal with multi family housing. You really need to plan your reno with tha aid of a good contractor who is familiar with multi family requirements, and who has done some initial demo to know what can and cannot be moved.

Having said all of that, if those walls can come down, a l shaped kitchen with a single large island, as big as you can go would be my choice. And add a prep sink if the mechanicals gods permit a drain line to happen.

I will be using a small countertop MW.
If I pull out the countertop than I will lose that space on the wall with the stove making the cabinet to the right of the stove small. But it may be worth it.

I second hollysprings' suggestion. That would work better than your current plan. It would be something like this:

[Traditional Kitchen[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/traditional-kitchen-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_709~s_2107) by Poway Interior Designers & Decorators Cre8tive Interior Designs

Can you post an overhead view with dimensions? That would be very helpful in providing more concrete suggestions.
