Finished Kitchen!!!!!

Hi all. Haven't been on here in a while but still peek every few days or so. I found the people on this forum to be so helpful ! Special thanks to KitchenKelly for her help with the bench dimensions! This kitchen was 5 years in the planning and saving stage and completed mid July or so - good timing since we are expecting our 3rd child in 2 weeks.

The space for this kitchen was existing space in our house. It was an old cape with all bedrooms downstairs - we put dormers upstairs and made 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths so this space was used as a playroom for the past 2 years or so. Kitchen was from the 50's and located in the opposite corner of the house (no dishwasher!). We live on the lake so the kitchen was on the road side and we felt it belonged on the water side with an eventual deck off the two french doors.

My favorite things in this kitchen are:

1 - Speakers in the ceiling!!!

2 - Sink in island with soap dispenser and air switch

3 - pull out garbage and recycling

4 - Spice racks on cabinet

5 - Wine rack and bookshelf at the end of the island visible from living room

6 - Undercounter microwave

Again thanks to everyone for all your help. Do have one last question - What do you think about the tiles for a backsplash behind the stove. I would do the larger tiles, perhaps set on an angle with a 3" border of the stone and glass mosaic. Thoughts? I have run out of steam a little but it may get done this fall. Thanks

I don't know if things would have turned out so great without my finding this forum!!!
