Basically, we would like our new highrise apartment to feel homey asap. We have sold our colonial house and will move in 5 weeks. It seems very white and cold. I realize We need color advice to warm up this living room/dining room space. This is not our furniture. Need to personalize the space, too making it a little fun, or surprising. There is not much wall space and there are floor to ceiling windows 2-stories high. How can we make this cozy? Open to all creative ideas.

How and where to add color. Curtains are not possible.

Floors are a dark parquet in small square pattern. Would wide engineered planks be a worthwhile improvement?

I dislike the vertical railings, so can you suggest other, horizontal and curvilinear options. Paint the bannister dark brown?

I'm thinking of a large, round mirror on the stairway where the painting hangs. This would reflect the window light and show a pretty view too.

There are popcorn ceilings. Do we scrape it off or cover it with dry wall? Thanks, guys!
