I just purchased an old home and it needs a little boost of something?!

I was loving the blue walls but now since seeing several pictures on your site, I'm not too sure. I like rustic and classy. I have a lot of furniture from Restorations that are natural wood or bronze metal. I
How can I make this small area pop open into the adjacent family room( pale orange and tan) and the other formal dining room undecided? Window treatments that can flow from kitchen to family room. Thanks in advance,

Have you thought of adding color to the ceiling? I really like the color on the wall and maybe a creamy tone on the ceiling would look good. I'd update the fan to one that is more rustic or more neutral.

Crown molding is a great idea, I would also change my ceiling light to white blades and paint the ceiling a brighter white. I love your wall color! Very fresh and bright.

Being that you like a more rustic look, I went to Sherwin-Williams and looked through their 'Rustic Refined" colors. What if you picked a neutral like Bittersweet Stem and Outerbanks, then bring in that lovely blue in your drapes and rugs? I agree about the crown moulding. It always makes a room more finished. Bring in your elegant rustic in your ceiling fan and light fixtures.

I like your paint colour choice, back splash, counters, cupboards and the faucet. Your curtain fabric can give you a rustic look and complete the room before you start accessorizing. Do bring in your collection of metal and wood pieces.
For your window treatment, I would suggest a big Ikat print for a scruffy, crafted, timeless look. Uphostered chairs can be in a durable, knubby weave.

Restoration Hardware is soooo linen. Consider choosing either the orange or tan from the family room and make window treatments in linen.
