    Those are Pear trees which flower in the early spring and are green leafed for the rest of the season

    I'll add here for the layman asking the original question that these are a Flowering Pear tree, not the fruit variety. Any landscape or nursery are familiar with this tree, and there are several varieties. It's the most popular parking lot tree on the market. They grow tall, cylindrical and fast. Very hardy.

    Flowering pears are beautiful and grow quickly. However, they are not resistant to strong wind. The branches are heavy and snap easily.

    And they have an unpleasant fishy odor when they bloom.

    @bdnd5093 - oooh yes they do! I would avoid them merely for the unpleasant smell. It's just freaky. And a gravel road is far less expensive than concrete or asphalt and far more environmentally friendly.
