Backsplash help, please!

I'm finally shopping for backsplash tile! It would never have occurred to me that a week into the renovation I'd first be *starting* to look at backsplashes... I always thought I'd have everything picked out and ordered in advance. But cabinets took months to pick, then bathroom tile was virtually impossible to choose (but got done in 5 weeks!)... And now I've got to pick a backsplash within a week or too, and my brain cells that rule aesthetics are totally burnt out, and I'm mentally exhausted from micromanaging my contractor, and totally in the dumps about my bathroom framing, and YET I've got to choose a backsplash.

So... HELP!!!!

It's a tiny galley kitchen (7'x10') with a doorway at one end and a window at the other. My cabinets are Kraftmaid wide shaker style in maple Ginger Glaze. The countertop is Zodiaq in Smokey Topaz. The floor is Cerdomus Tesoro Zendo Brown. The appliances, sink, and faucet are stainless steel, and the style of everything is fairly contemporary.

(True color is somewhere inbetween these two photos.)

I'm thinking a lighter colored backsplash since everything else is darker. Originally I was thinking a tumbled travertine kind of backsplash, maybe 6x6 diagonal tiles. Then I was thinking mini-brick, but I ended up with a random mini-brick border in the bathroom so I think I want something different in the kitchen. In the last couple of weeks I started thinking glass, or glass-and-stone mosaic...but I don't know if that's just a fad in my head and I'll get over it. ;-) Also, the countertop is fairly "busy", so a busy mosaic seems like too much with it.

Any ideas???

Thanks in advance!!!!
