Investigate a bit; The sides of the DW may have slots for those same brackets to snap into.

most of the fabricators in my area have a thin metal strip with pre-drilled holes in it for this. It mounts to the top of the cabinets on either side of the dishwasher and run across the top of the dishwasher. You can then mount your dishwasher to this strip into the pre-drilled holes

My soapstone fabricator (Jay Tauber at Garden State Stone) routinely installs a small wooden block into the soapstone where the dishwasher upper brackets mount. It's a much more secure operation than side mounts. If you haven't gotten your soapstone yet, look into that.

GE has a side mount bracket kit that is available to fit some of their new DW's when installed with stone counters. Check your particular model's specs to see if it will work with it. It's part GPF65. It's $10 at Central Appliance Parts online. You might find it for less at a local appliance parts store.

With many DWs, you remove the top 'straps' (the metal bit the screws go into to go into the countertop) with a pair of pliers, then reattach them to the sides.

There is also an epoxy product out there that mounts a stud to the bottom of the countertop and you then use a nut to hold down the DW.
