We had an old B&D cordless Handi-mixer. It died during the reno (kept it unplugged too long while setting up the new kitchen and it never recovered). Its replacement barely lasted months, not even a yr???

Gave in and finally bought a KA hand mixer (I have a KA stand mixer as well, but wanted something smaller and lighter for small mixing jobs).

A wooden spoon????

There are a few on Amazon, but anything with more than 2 stars seems to cost an arm and a leg. Is there some reason a corded one won't do? There's a whole page full of corded models with 4-5 stars that cost between $20 and $40. My old on is still going strong after 10+ years.

The reason I would like a cordless mixer is because my island won't have an outlet as it will be on casters. I was hoping this could be the place i could mix up cakes, brownies or pancake batter. That kind of thing. I don't want to deal with a cord draping across the aisle.

Can you do a floor outlet? Run a strip up the inside of the movable island?

I would LOVE to have a floor outlet but is that something that is aloud? Not sure an outlet can be on the floor especially in a kitchen.

Yeah - they even come in different finishes. There are a few in big box stores and more at electrical suppliers.

How do you mop the floor when there is an electrical outlet in the floor? It just seems dangerous. This is something that I will have to look into.
