we're doing white painted cabs with walnut floors. round table in breakfast room will be stained wood. too early to make any selections yet so don't know species/stain. i'm pretty certain i'd like a modified parsons chair, upholstered in a lighter color with nail head trim to break up the dark wood.

I have a table that is kind of a pine color. It is a rectangular harvest table. My floors are a medium oak color. My new kitchen will have darker floors and white cabinets. I think I will keep the same table and darken it just a bit, but not as dark as the floors. My chairs have painted white backs and legs and thrush seats.

We have white cabinets with white cabinets for the island. Our countertops are green quartz and the flooring is white oak. Natural color for the floor, not stained.

We have a round, glass top kitchen table. They style in contemporary with a nickel metal finish base. We also have 4 chairs that match with black seats plus 2 swivel bar stools at the island.

White perimeter cabinets. Cherry island and med color hardwood. We have ORB finishes. We went with a black table with a cherry top. Very happy with the color combination.

mdmc, I LOVE your kitchen! Can I ask where you got your table and what granite you have? My kitchen is just the reverse of yours cherry cabinets white island. Your kitchen is STUNNING! Sorry for the hijack this is a great thread I hope you get some more responses.

My cabinets are ivory, the floors are gunstock hardwood, I do not have an island as my kitchen is too small. We opened our wall to the dining room half way and my furniture is cherry mahogany in the dining room. I went with a ivory set with a cherry top. It blends well with the dining room and the cabinets in the kitchen. It sort of has that country french look.

Marybeth, I'm not mdmc, but I had a two-tone table in my last house -- bought it from Canadel. Our buyers asked us to leave it, which was probably okay because we need a different style for the new house. We do plan to replace it with another from Canadel. You "build" your own pieces by selecting stain or paint finish, legs, seat, back, table top, etc. . . and they build to your order fairly quickly. We were more than pleased with the quality and appearance. The chairs we selected were incredibly comfortable. Mdmc's black and cherry finish would be available.

We have white cabs, black granite and linoleum floors and we ended up with one of those dark espresso, nearly black, tables.

White cabs, marble on perimeter, dark brown on island, wood floors--our table is dark wood top with an iron base; parsons chairs upholstered in a burgundy floral and very dark, dark brown (almost black) armchairs.

I almost went with black for island barstools and sometimes wish I had...also had planned for a black bench in the kitchen which I haven't gotten yet...so I like black with your combo as well.
