Our local Restore (retail resale division of Habitat for Humanity) has been getting in complete kitchens for showrooms. They had a whole house full of cabinets with all of the bells and whistles (they had to show off all of the gadgets possible, right?) for $4500. And we're not talking a simple galley kitchen. This was a huge amount of cabinetry...at least $30-40,000 worth. What a great deal for somebody. They said they got a set in last week that sold for $5000 and it was on the floor for only three hours before it sold.

I have a friend with a classy Julia Morgan Tudor they've been restoring for, oh, some 30 years! They got their dark cherry cabs from a kitchen showroom closeout, and it's amazing how beautifully it all fits in.

Of course, it took her DH 7 years to get the marble countertops on...but it all looks great now, LOL.
