I have heard more than once from peers...."grey is the new beige". I think people are so tired of beige they are looking for something to replace it. These particular homeowners said "Absolutely NO BEIGE" and the home is in Arizona where earth-tones are so popular.

Chances are there is some stainless steel in your kitchen and the grey glaze really plays off that tone.

You can never go wrong with white cabinets in the kitchen---20 years ago....today...20 years from now I think you will be fine. It is so clean and bright---just what you want in a kitchen. Good luck with your projects!

Hello,

The cabinets are painted white with a gray glaze that was then rubbed off the raised areas but allowed to accumulate in the nooks and crevices. You can see the difference the gray glaze makes by comparing the cabinets to the ceiling beams and molding, which are also white but without glaze.

how popular is this color? building home and i thought i found my kitchen, but this one has really caught my eye! ...is this in your opinion just a fleeting fancy? thank you in advance for the information.

This gray glaze is simply beautiful. I am now rethinking my cabinet choice as well. I had a white with a taupe glaze picked out but I think I might change that. Thanks and good luck.

What are my options w white flooring and paint grade cabinets with light walls??? I need some ideas to make the kitchen stand out

oh i can think of alot of things! keeping your countertops? ....i like white cabinets and going to glaze mine, black countertop...or you could go grey cabinets with black countertop....I am sure others will chime in here!

Are these cabinets PURE white with a gray glaze.....or a different shade of white? If a shade of white, do you remember the name/manuf. of color?

they are going to be painted white, with a gray glaze. I dont know the paint # he is using.

Sorry---I can't help you there. They were done by a custom cabinet maker, and after several versions/samples of paint to make a custom color, then varrying amounts of glaze we approved the one we liked and that's the color of the cabinets! Custom---one-of-a-kind---finish. It's quite tricky actually because the glaze was rubbed off in varrying degrees until he got it just right! Good luck with your project!

Thank you I have a cabinet guy who has a copy of these cabinets..He is not one bit put out about doing this, at first i was going to go with faux and he really did not want to to that!..will see, he has not called me to look at any finishes yet:( but with the holidays been only a few weeks.
