Tug or no rug under table?

I debating about getting a 6 x 9 tug for under table. Wood floors in kitchen and sunroom behind table but carpet in adjacent family and dinning room. I love wood floors but not totally loving the way the table accents the floor wood color, but not sure I want to cover up all my wood bring I have a lot of carpet still. Thoughts? Rug or not?

You need to get a rug that will be large enough to fit under chairs when they are pulled away from the table to sit. You could measure out size on floor with tape and then measure.

Yes it would look better w a rug, but I'm thinking larger than 6x9

What is to the left of the table? And is the table under the overhead light or not? Hard to tell in photo.

The table is directly under overhead light. To the left of the table is an island, with a stool right there. There is not a "ton" of space in between the table and island. When bench is pulled out the might be just enough space to walk through.

On second thought, a bigger rug might not fit! Tape out the dimensions of the rug you want and repost pics!

I think a new area rug will come too close to your carpet to look well, and that you needn't worry about the table not matching the floor. Try adding a table runner as a simpler diversion.
