Nice! How long did it actually take to get to that point?

That is just beautiful! And with no hot, sweaty, itchy, back-breaking turning or fretting about how hot it is or isn't.
I cold compost, too. Mine isn't that dark, but sifts out pretty fine. Did you have worms in yours, too? I always wonder how much is compost, vermicompost, and castings.

Thanks for sharing the picture. BTW - check out COMPOST HAIKU thread for what rhymes with compost. And it's not boasting when its true!

Looks like good road building material. Hot composting makes the good stuff. LOL! Just kidding. I'd use it for prairie grass. I think it needs some bread. Hee!

Beautiful! Cold is how it's made in the real world.

That compost took over a year to end up as it is. What you see has been passed through 1/4" mesh and is used for vegetable and flower gardens. It was loaded with red worms towards the end of it's breaking down so it's full of worm castings. The growth rate of the flowers and vegs is quite surprising, almost incredible.

I'm glad the last comment was posted. My comment would have been that this photo looks like my compost after going past my 1/4" sifter. I use it mostly as a outdoor top media when planting seeds.

That's compost porn is what that is.
