Wow - that really is a dark rose! What is the pretty pale pink one next to it?

Oh my goodness!!!!! I've never seen such a rose!! So dark, yet the reverse is so light. I think you're going to have a lot of people thanking you for bringing this rose to their attention. That's incredible.

I got 2 this past spring. Beautiful blooms. For me the bushs have grown like a weed. Out performing most everything I got this spring. They are right next to my 2 Gemini and are just as big & full as Gemini. I have heard that some people are having a hard time growing DK. It HAS to be location. DK has been the biggest surprise rose I have had in several years.

Ours is performing nicely too. Lots of blooms! We brought one to our rose show & unfortunately the center is not good for exhibition, but we entered it as an open bloom & got a blue ribbon. It got a lot of attention from the public during the viewing. It colors are so eye catching.

Center is one of those strange pseudo vegetative looking things. Reminds me of Wedding Cake.

The centers of all my blooms have been great for me so far. I don't use heavy nitrogen fert. Mostly organics and 15-30-15 half strength & fish emultion half strength. No split or confused centers on any of my roses.

No, no confused centers here either. Just a characteristic of how it opens. Blooms last about 30 minutes...lol
    No fragrance; a novelty rose.

Thanks for posting those pictures, they are helpful!

I love this rose a lot too. The open bloom on Dark Knight is beautiful. And because of its color combination, I find it to be drop dead gorgeous when it's half open.

Is this the new rose, Dark Night, by Meilland or the older, out of commerce, Dark Knight by Christensen?

There are 2 different roses described on HMF and I think these are supposed to be Dark Night -- without the "K". (I'd really love it if it were in fact the other name; it's one of our favorite movies.)

So far, mine is glorious when half open, but it lasts that way only 12 hours & then fully exposes the stamens. I'm hoping its habits change as it becomes a more mature plant. This is its first year in my garden.

This is the new DARK NIGHT from Edmunds. Thanks for the correction. I get a little excited during rose season. lol

Me too! I got so excited the last time I uploaded a bunch of pics to HMF that I posted them all under "My Garden" instead of under each specific rose. It happens!

Don't you just love Dark Night with Bride's Dream? My Bride's Dream is surrounded by Taboo, Dark Night, and Black Jade. It's truly striking.
