You said 'need the color' but didn't mention what the color is. Do you mean the red/white/blue variegated one? I googled Americana Thread and this is what I found.

I use this for hand quilting, (it's not for machine sewing) they always have it at Joanne's but it is never in the thread department, it is always in one of the bins at the end of the fabric rows, it's always very cheap and may be mixed in with other items.

I know this is an older Post but I found it at warehouse fabrics inc. I too looked high and low for this thread it just feels and does better! It's usually around 25 to 50 cents a spool at Joanns but it's 99 cents a spool here but it is available on a regular basis where it's not and miss at
