Wire Cable Curtains for 26' window. Good idea?

I want to run a 26' metal wire across front windows of lake house to hang muslin unlined curtains. How can I do that successfully in USA? Don't want it to break loose and hurt someone. Or sag. Do you have a better idea? Curtains will be closed only when we leave. Should I hem the tops or bottoms. Will that make them too heavy for wire ? Thank you.

I have never seen wire used as a curtain rod that did NOT sag across even a short expanse, much less a 26 foot wide one. I do not think this would be a successful project, unfortunately.

Would not tension cable wire work, you could add a few hooks to stop sag

Go to House of Hepworths . They have a DIY project for curtain rods. It would be very inexpensive and easy.
