To paint or not to paint an interior structural column

Hi. We have a large cylindrical structural column in our living room that is painted white (currently). Our living room will be painted a muted grey/taupe color (best I can describe, LOL) and we are curious if we should paint the column the same colors of the wall or leave stark white? HELP!

If it is standing alone as an architectural detail, I would paint it the same color as the rest of your trim. If abuts the wall, you could go either way. In that case, painting it the wall color will minimize it's visual impact. Otherwise, painting it the trim color could be useful if it separates two rooms and you want to transition wall colors from one room to the next.

Thank you for taking the time to comment! It abuts windows, not wall much. Attached a picture. So we were thinking same as wall color?
