You are renting the room, box them up and put them in the hallway.

He says to me "just put a sheet over it"... I've attempted once to move them and he about had a heart attack.

The other thing, I can think of is to move the ones on the top shelf to the other shelves and get a large foam core boards and tape them to the top shelf. Then move the bed in front of the unit and use it as a headboard. Or get a screen and put it in front of them. Or tell him, you are going to find another place to stay. Quite frankly, I think it is a bit unreasonable, since they can easily be boxed up.

Ooh thank you, I've been thinking about all 3 suggestions haha! The room needs paint anyhow, but my first concern is this eye sore. I agree, that I'm not asking for very much and a, looking for a different living situation since this will not work for me much longer.

And forgive the mess, the darn room is not put together by any means. I work so much and pick up all the time. Any ideas on color that would go nice with my stand and lamp that are next to the bed? Planning on getting a different duvais/bed set soon

If you're already looking for a new place is it worth the effort? Doesn't sound like it to me but I guess it depends how long you expect to live with it and whether you think you can.

I would look at covering it up. First, move the shelf unit somehwere in the room that is more useful for you. IDecoratively, find some inexpensive shutters at a resale/antique/salvage/Habitat Restore and wire the shutters together where they hinge. Have the shutters taller than this shelf unit. Buy enough shutters to wrap around the unit and wire the shutter enclosure to the shelf. Then you can go about getting the space organized to suit you. Good luck

I would not put any money in the room. I can't understand his logic. It looks like a good collection. If it were mine I would want it out of harm's way.

I too am surprised that the owner doesn't want to pack up the toys and store them safely away. Those old toys can be quite valuable and the entire collection is probably has more value than the rent he's receiving from you.

First and foremost, if you are renting this room from this person, you have the legal right to have them remove their belongings and place them elsewhere. If you do not want to confront this landlord and do not want to move out, I would put those toys in a box and place them under your bed. They really have no legal right to walk into your room without your consent. Putting a blanket over it, would make it look to trailer park, I wouldnt spend a dime there!!
