Have you considered doing anything with the landscaping? It's hard to tell in the winter of course, but it feels kind of pulled in up to the house, somehow closing it in. What about redoing the pathway in pavers in a more craftsman-y style, wider path, that wanders further down the yard before turning into the driveway (as part of the repaving project?) I'd consider re-shaping the bed right up by the current path (shorter, to open a wider space highlighting the entry more) to open it up and losing the row of ball-o-shrubs, particularly the two blue ones and getting some nice urns and planting those with either seasonal stuff you change out or something with more dynamic foliage approximately where the blue shrubs are. With the wide paved porch you've got, you have the space to have a nice wide open entry. You could probably clad or redo your posts to look more like the photo janamdavis posted, too.
Painting your front doors would add a little "zing" too.
