A good freestanding, French-Door refrigerator?

I'm hoping to get some honest feedback on 2 refrigerators we are looking at. We were about to buy the KitchenAid Architect series (about $3K) but then some some scathing reviews online - mostly that it's loud, also that it is unreliable (specifically ice maker). I feel like for every good review there's a bad one, so would love to hear any thoughts. We are also looking at a comparable (same price) Samsung with 2 drawers (one freezer, one quick grab items). Mixed reviews there too. We are doing a high end kitchen renovation but I do not like/want a SubZero. Truly appreciate any feedback!!! (also open to suggestion of other options not mentioned here)

I've heard negative on Whirlpool too since they left the country. Don't consider LG! I'd have to go with KA or SZ if it were mine, but I have no experience with either - just hearsay. lol

mine is an LG (purchased at Lowes). L-O-V-E it! Especially like the hidden ice maker in the door...its behind a panel that has shelves so there is additional storage space. no issues with maintenance, but have only had 2 years. we did purchase the extended warranty.

I have heard good things about Whirlpool, acm, but am looking for maximum cubic feet - like close to 30

Same situation here! Almost ordered the 42" subZ. We then came to our senses...why pay $9,000 for less space. We're building a new home. We have the ability to borrow some space from the pantry to put a recessed pocket for the fridge. After sickening amounts of research, we landed on a kenmore elite 32 cu ft. We still aren't feeling great, but we'll buy the protection plan in hopes that'll get us help if needed. If it helps, numerous salespeople told us to avoid Samsung and GE. GE just got bought out by Electrolux and their future is uncertain. They also break a lot. We were going to go with Kitchen aid or whirlpool but the design of this kenmore is amazing! Good luck!

I've had a bad experience with my Samsung. Fortunately I purchased the extended warranty, which I rarely do, and have had three service calls in two years. When it works it's great, but it has not been dependable. Burns me up because refrigerators are not inexpensive purchases. I guess the days of 20 year appliances are gone forever.

Hello, I have a Samsung french door fridge and I love it. The model rf4289hars. Mine has apps and is internet connected, some people aren't interested in that, but as a fridge itself....it is great. The only complaints that I found to be true...#1 the ice dropping makes a loud noise. We became used to that, no big deal. #2 the center drawer is awesome, but the bars used to divide items do move around a bit. :) No big deal either. Food stays fresh, it's not loud, very cold, plenty of ice, easy to change the water filter, awesome tasting water, inexpensive replacement Samsung water filter...only about $35. I can't say enough good stuff about it. Purchased at Best Buy and they have a great protection/service plan. Good luck with your purchase. :) Btw, I also had two people on my thread that have a Samsung fridge and they are happy with them too. :) Not to mention several others. Speak to your service techs...I always ask my repair guy before making purchases.....he knows what has the most repair calls. :)

We love our Amana. Not "high end," but it works well. I didn't want the water dispenser on the outside. It's very quiet, makes ice quickly, spas three drawers and the freezer has excellent access.

So what did you purchase and how is it working out for you?
